Serve the Profession: Join the Colorado State Board of Landscape Architects

Written by Colorado Green NOW

Dear Landscape Architects,

The Office of the Governor is currently seeking a qualified landscape architect to fill a professional seat on the Colorado State Board of Landscape Architects—and we encourage you to consider serving.

This is an excellent opportunity to give back to your profession, shape the future of landscape architecture in Colorado, and gain valuable insight into state-level regulatory processes. Board service is a civic commitment, not a heavy time burden, and many find it personally and professionally rewarding.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for this seat, you must:

  • Be a licensed landscape architect in Colorado
  • Have at least three years of experience in the practice of landscape architecture
  • Be a resident of Colorado

What to Expect:

  • Meetings: Three per year, typically on the 3rd Friday of February, July, and November
  • Format: Mostly virtual via Zoom, with occasional in-person meetings in Denver
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 3–4 hours per meeting (including preparation)
  • Compensation: $50 per meeting day + travel reimbursement for in-person sessions

This is an impactful way to serve your profession and contribute to public protection. If you or someone in your firm fits the criteria and is willing to serve, we urge you to apply or reach out to learn more.
